Avigil will be held next week to remember lives lost due to domestic and family violence as part of a national day of remembrance.
The Limestone Coast Family Violence Action Group together with Uniting Communities will host a candle lighting ceremony on May 3 at 5.30pm under the Mount Gambier Library verandah.
The action group each year runs the Domestic and Family Violence Vigil as part of the national day held the first Wednesday in May each year to raise awareness of the impact of domestic violence.
A speaker from Voices for Change will attend this year to talk about their own experience of family and domestic violence.
The group is asking the community to show their support by coming together and lighting a candle with a minute’s silence during the vigil.
