Community grant funding available

Community groups, individuals and not-for profit organisations are invited to make their project a reality through the Glenelg Shire’s Community Grants Program.

Grant applications for round two of the 2022-2023 Community Grants Program are open until February 13.

The grant categories include recreation, public halls, community strengthening, community events and arts culture and heritage.

Glenelg Shire Mayor Scott Martin said community organisations were the lifeblood of the region.

“Council is incredibly proud of its Community Grants Program, which has helped hundreds of local not-for-profit groups, committees, clubs and organisations bring their ideas to life,” he said.

“In the past we have allocated funding to projects for new hall seating, clubroom refurbishments, sporting equipment, multimedia supplies, marketing and logistical costs for events.

“I hope to see a diverse range of applications for this funding round, supporting community-led projects from all corners of the shire.”

Applications for round two of the 2022-2023 Community Grants Program can be completed and submitted online.

Applicants can apply for grants for up to $1000 without any co-contribution.

All funding amounts requested between $1000-$5000 require a dollar for dollar contribution.

All organisations and groups are strongly encouraged to discuss their projects with the relevant council officer prior to submitting their application.
