The most wonderful time of year was evident on Sunday with the community coming together for the annual Blue Lake Christmas Carols.
The magical evening of Christmas cheer and carols rang throughout the Railway Lands.
Supported by Ray White Mount Gambier, the much-loved community event celebrated a remarkable 77th anniversary this year.
Those eager to get into the festive spirit were welcomed to join in the fun at the Little Ray Workshop prior to the main event getting under way.
With the daily temperature reaching 37 degrees, it provided ideal conditions to be out on the lawn to sing in the festive season.
Event hosts Trish Bruggemann and Peter Loring welcomed the crowd, which was estimated to be in excess of 4000.
Led by Phoenix Choir and musical director Jodi Swiggs, the event also featured performances from talented local singers and musicians.
Among the line up were Katie Leyden, Charlie Matthews, Shannon Wilcox, Isaac Bruggemann, Tamara Seeley, Maixence Williams, Amanda Langyel, local duo Fox Array, Simon Fisher and the Tenison Woods College Drum Corps.
Mount Gambier Mayor Lynette Martin delivered her mayoral Christmas address reflecting on this time of year.
The Liberty Church of Mount Gambier’s Dale Domleo spoke of the birth of Jesus in her Minister’s Address.
