Basketball was one of the first sports to return and started play as soon as possible on Tuesday with Social Men, Under 12 Boys Divisions Blue and Gold already hitting the Icehouse courts.

Each grade will continue playing on the same nights as before and Basketball Mount Gambier is confident it can make up for lost time.

A plan for the seniors’ competitions is still to be decided, but juniors can look forward to starting their school holidays with a couple of huge days full of basketball.

Touch football also resumed at McDonald Park yesterday, while competitions are back at golf courses all over the region.

The Mount Gambier Golf Club hosts a stableford competition today alongside the Driscoll Summer Cup, while the men’s and women’s Monthly Medals are on the line in Stroke rounds this Saturday.

Competitive play is coming back to the Blue Lake Golf Links with a bang today with the club hosting a rescheduled Movember fundraiser two-person Ambrose event, which includes a party hole.

The Mount Gambier Tennis Association season will resume with all three senior grades on Saturday afternoon.

Division 1 will start with a huge clash between ladder-leader Glencoe and its nearest challenger Centrals/ Uniting Church, while Reidy Park hopes to score its first win against West Gambier.

One-on-one coaching can also recommence, while the Lakes Junior Tennis season also comes back on Saturday.

Baseball and softball will swing back into action at Blue Lake Sports Park as originally scheduled.

The Mount Gambier and District Baseball League Division 1 season recommences with games at Mount Gambier and Millicent.

South plays Tigers under lights at Blue Lake Sports Park, while the Bandits host Centrals.

Three softball games will take place in the precinct on Saturday afternoon between 1 and 5pm.

The South East Volleyball Association has modified the run home of its interrupted 2020 winter season.

The sixth and final round will take place next Monday, while the grand finals will be played on Monday, December 14.

Mount Gambier Disc Golf hopes to reschedule its Aussie Disc Golf Day to this Sunday, but it was not confirmed at the time of print.

The organisation also postponed a random format day which was expected to be held this Saturday.

Tomorrow night should also see the return of many youngsters competing in track and field activities in the next event of Mount Gambier Little Athletics, while the Lower South East Bowls Association is expected to roll back into action with its Friday and Saturday pennant competitions.
