Council nominations open

Nominations will open on Thursday to replace resigned councillor Rick Paltridge on Wattle Range Council.

The Penola grazier resigned as a Riddoch ward representative with immediate effect on August 3 after almost three years in office.

The voters’ roll closed on August 31 and nominations will be accepted until October 7.

The period of postal voting will run until November 15.

A candidate briefing session will be held for intending candidates from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday, September 28 at the Penola Office, John Shaw Neilson Meeting Room, Arthur Street, Penola.

The postal ballot to replace Mr Paltridge will be conducted by the Electoral Commission of South Australia at an approximate cost of $15,000.
