Premier Peter Malinauskas has followed through with Labor’s pre-election promise to reinstate Country Cabinet, which will travel to the Limestone Coast tomorrow and Thursday.
A community barbecue will be held at the Blue Lake Golf Club at 5.30pm followed by a public forum from 6.15pm until 7.30pm.
The forum will be an opportunity for the community to have a say and ask the Premier and Cabinet ministers questions.
The Cabinet will also meet with local businesses and stakeholders during their time in the region.
Mr Malinauskas said Country Cabinet was a great opportunity for the Cabinet to hear from local communities across the state about what was important to them.
Member for Mount Gambier Troy Bell is looking forward to Country Cabinet’s visit to town this week.
“I have helped coordinate countless meetings with businesses and those who have reached out to my office who want to meet ministers to talk about issues,” he said.
“I encourage all our community members to get along to the Blue Lake Golf Club on Wednesday night to listen to the Premier and show an acknowledgement these guys are not stuck at the toll gate, they are coming out to the regions.
“I will be working with this government and look forward to really propelling the seat of Mount Gambier forward.”
Due to limited capacity, registrations for the community barbecue and forum are required and can be made via Eventbrite.
