The next Country Cabinet meeting will be held in the seat of MacKillop held by Liberal-turned Independent MP Nick McBride.
Premier Peter Malinauskas made the surprise announcement during Question Time in the House of Assembly on Thursday afternoon.
Mr Malinauskas said he was “very excited” to make the announcement but did not reveal a date or precise venue for the gathering of minsters and senior public servants.
“The seat of MacKillop has a good local MP who wants to make sure the government is working hard for his local community,” Premier Malinauskas said.
Mr McBride enjoys good relations with Labor MPs and several attended his 50th birthday party at Robe in 2019.
He has also dined at the Adelaide home of Premier Malinauskas.
Last month, the MacKillop electorate was visited by Her Excellency the Governor of South Australia Frances Adamson.
Among her stops were Meningie and Tailem Bend.
