Crows bring fight to Eagles in hard fought contest

Penola’s A Grade netball team went into Saturday’s game against Keith expecting a challenge and that was exactly what they got.

The Eagles had a rough start in the first quarter with the team having trouble finding their feet and throwing away some easy balls.

Keith seized the opportunity to take some strong intercepts and convert, quickly taking them into the first quarter break with a seven-goal lead.

Penola made some changes going into the second quarter and tidied up their game, as they started to settle into some nicer passages of play.

Keith continued their fast paced game and accurate finishing, slowly pushing out their lead by a couple more by half time.

The Eagles went into the second half eager to change the score line in their favour.

Defence worked hard to turn over some balls but unfortunately the team were unable to convert, allowing Keith to push out their lead a little further by the third quarter break.

Determined to chip back the score, Penola pushed through the fourth quarter and brought the margin back to seven to finish the game, going down 38-47.

Jade Lythgo and Gorgia Robbie were named best on court for the Eagles.
