South Gambier v West Gambier
This matchup is looking like the game of the round as the Roos head to Blue Lake Sports Park to take on the Dees.
Last time they played West came away with a seven point win at Malseed Park.
Both sides are coming off tough losses last round as the Roos fell to the Saints and the Dees came up short against the Tigers.
Both teams will be hungry to get another win this week, especially the Dees after their last meeting with the Roos.
West Gambiers Jesse Pfitzner had a solid interleague game on the weekend and was a major ball getter for the LCFNL.
Mason Hein will be a big player for the Dees this week with his work in the ruck which has been a big part of South’s success this season, and he dominated in the ruck last weekend against the Mid South East.
I can see this game coming down to the wire like last time and it will be a must watch for the weekend.
North Gambier v Casterton Sandford
The Cats will head to Vansittart Park to take on North Gambier this Saturday.
Last time these sides played each other North defeated the Cats by 41 points in Casterton.
Both sides are coming off great wins with Casterton defeating East and the Tigers taking down the Dees.
This will be a big game for the Cats as they fight to make the top four as we head into the halfway point of the season.
The Tigers should be feeling confident heading into this game after their big away win last round.
Both sides had good representation in the interleague carnival on the weekend with North Gambier’s Toby de Wit getting a couple of goals on the board, while for the Cats Hamish Mccrae was a goal scorer for the Limestone Coast.
East Gambier v Millicent
The Saints will head to the Kennel this week as they take on the Doggies.
Last time these sides faced the Saints defeated East by 55 points.
Going into this game the Saints have only suffered one loss this season while the Doggies are still searching for their first.
An upside for the Doggies is they will be well rested after having no representatives in the interleague side.
Millicent on the other hand had nine players take the field, which could be a negative but at the same time it shows how strong Millicent is with talent like Harry Tunkin, Kade Bradley and Sam Willis.
This will be a game that Millicent will be looking to get out of the way and make light work of as they have the Dees next week.
