Deregulation talks resurface

Arare ministerial letter about Millicent’s regulated shopping hours was dealt with in two minutes at the Wattle Range Council meeting on Tuesday night.

As reported in Tuesday’s edition of The SE Voice, Industrial Relations Minister Kyam Maher explained his current exemptions and outlined the procedure for deregulation.

Council chief executive Ben Gower said no one had yet approached council on this issue. Mr Gower said the last community shopping hours survey occurred in 2017 and cost in the region of $10,000.

“Change to shopping hours was overwhelmingly rejected by the people of Millicent,” he said.

The meeting then received and noted the Maher letter.
