Digital education under microscope

The University of South Australia Mount Gambier Campus welcomed UniSA Professor of Learning Analytics and Executive Dean of Education Futures Professor Shane Dawson to the campus last week to present a public lecture.

Prof Dawson discussed the future of digital learning in schools, businesses and the community in a society where technology is continuously evolving.

He explored advanced technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, and what they mean for education, workplaces and the community.

UniSA Mount Gambier Regional Manager Ian McKay said the lecture provided an opportunity for local educators, businesspeople and community members to gain insight into the speed of change in the way we interact and use technologies.

Mr McKay said the evening was a success, with more than 30 people attending the event and they received excellent feedback about the lecture.

Attendees enjoyed a glass of wine sponsored by Patrick of Coonawarra before the lecture followed by a light supper after the event.

“UniSA Mount Gambier continues to be proud to bring our public lecture series to our regional community,” Mr McKay said.

“The events are free and feature a wide range of interesting and thought-provoking speakers.”
