Supported Playgroups in Catholic Education (SPiCE) are a cornerstone of CESA’s early learning offerings.
The supported playgroups positively impact children’s learning and development as they are a time for both children and parents to engage in play, develop meaningful relationships and access appropriate family support services within a safe and welcoming environment.
Early Childhood Advisor at CESA Juliana Martino believes that opportunities to engage in authentic playful and creative experiences nourish and support the development of children’s curiosity, persistence, and confidence.
“It is through play-based learning experiences that young children flourish and make meaning of their world,” she said.
SPiCE playgroups are registered with Playgroup SA and managed by experienced facilitators who are supported by Catholic Education SA with access to professional learning and resources.
This ensures each playgroup is well supported and offers developmentally appropriate learning experiences that benefit children’s overall development.
