Eagles get job done on road

Hatherleigh reversed the result of its unsuccessful May 22 trip to the Bay when it accounted for Port MacDonnell at home by 15 points.

After a scratchy first half, both teams lifted the calibre of their play.

Although it was not a convincing margin, the Eagles were able to respond whenever the Demons mounted a challenge.

The win guaranteed Hatherleigh a place in the finals and it might even finish the minor-round season as high as second if Port MacDonnell and Robe both falter in the last two
rounds.

Previously injured Eagles Gerard McGrath and Sam Telfer impressed in their return to A grade.

Four-time Demon Mail Medallist Will Macdonald has also had an injury-disrupted season and he showed patches of his best form.

Hatherleigh will look to consolidate its position in the major round when it pays its annual visit to Mount Burr in round 17.

Meanwhile, Port MacDonnell will host Robe in a match which will have a huge bearing on who will meet undefeated ladder leaders Kalangadoo in the double chance second semi-
final.

The Demons will again have the services of skipper Daron Mcelr oy as he has served his suspension.
