Penola v Casterton Sandford
Penola will take on Casterton Sandford on Sunday at Nangwarry for the fifth round of the 2024 Limestone Coast Women’s Football League season.
Both sides had very different results last round with the Cats having a big win at home and the Eagles suffering a tough loss to Kyby.
Both sides have been very competitive this season and have had some big wins, with this week set to be a competitive game as one side looks to continue their winning form and the other looks to avenge their loss from last round.
The Eagles will be keen to get back out there and return to the winners list as they currently sit just outside of the top four.
A win on Sunday against the Cats will give them a good chance of getting back up there.
I think because of this the Eagles will get the job done in Nangwarry and get their second win of the season.
Nangwarry v North Gambier
Nangwarry will take on North Gambier this Sunday at their home deck.
This season the Tigers have been running through the competition so far and have not looked like losing.
Nangwarry, on the other hand, has been struggling quite a bit this season, only scoring one point in four games.
The Saints will be big underdogs heading into this game, but may have a slight edge, given they are playing at home.
However, I do not think that will affect the Tigers as they have been dominant wherever they are playing.
I predict the Tigers will come out on top in this game and improve their record to 4-0.
Millicent v South Gambier
South Gambier will take on Millicent this Sunday at McDonald Park.
Both sides have not been too competitive this season with the Saints only having one win and the Dees still looking for their first.
Last week both sides suffered tough losses with the Dees getting so close to getting their first win.
South has shown flashes of good play but have not been able to piece it all tougher and get a win.
If the Dees play like they did last week they will have a good shot at winning and this match up might be one of their best opportunities to do so.
With that in mind, I think the Dees will get over the hump and get their first win of the season.
Mundulla v Kybybolite
Mundulla will take on Kybybolite this Sunday in Nangwarry.
Both of these teams have been very good this season and are definitely flag contenders, meaning that this will be an exciting game with high stakes as both sides head into this clash undefeated.
Another interesting aspect of this game will be the battle with Kyby’s forward line and Mundulla’s backline.
Mundulla have had a very good defence this season, only allowing 10 points so far while Kyby has been the highest scoring team this season, scoring 298 points.
It will be interesting to see how these two sides match up.
With a lot on the line in this match both sides will be on their A game as they look to stay undefeated.
I think Mundulla will just get over the line in this game – but I do not think it will be easy for them.
