Earthquake felt across South East

A 4.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning near Murrayville.

It generated 300 reports from South East and Victorian Mallee towns and beyond including Keith and Kingston.

Geoscience Australia said the earthquake struck at 3.17am (SA time) with lesser aftershocks occurring later throughout the morning.

The epicentre was around 10km from the South Australian border, and the earthquake occurred at a depth of around 2km.
