Engine gives up before driver

AMount Gambier woman was arrested for alleged traffic offences and for failing to stop for police at Tantanoola on Friday night.

A car was detected allegedly travellingg at 145kph in a 110kph zone on the Princes Highway, Tantanoola just before 6pm.

According to police, the driver allegedly failed to stop for officers but then experienced engine problems and was forced to pull over.

The driver, a 25-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with failing to stop, speeding, driving disqualified and driving with unassigned number plates.

She was bailed to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on June 14.

Her vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 28 days.
