Entrance sign makes a welcome return

The entrance wall at the Beachport Outlet bridge has finally been completed.

It was a joint project between the Beachport and Rivoli Bay Lions Club and the Beachport District Development Association.

A new entrance was needed as the wooden “Welcome to Beachport” sign went missing a few years ago.

Lions publicity officer David Snook said the siting of the replacement involved the Wattle Range Council and the Department of Transport and Infrastructure.

“I believe Lions Gordon Sargeant and Mike Coonan had a lot to do with the end result,” Mr Snook said.

“Pam Hales with her band of mosaic tilers did a fantastic job creating almost life-like birds in a band across the bottom.

“Then she with some help from the Sea Urchins planted low shrubbery around the wall.

“It is a fantastic entrance sign to this marvellous town and well done to all those who were involved.”
