Everything to play for late in home and away season

Casterton Sandford v North Gambier

North Gambier will head across the border to take on the Cats on Saturday.

The Tigers are coming off a tough loss last week whereas the Cats’ spirits will be high after their win over the Doggies.

Last time these sides played it was a pretty competitive game with the Tigers up by six heading into the final quarter and eventually winning by 22.

Since that game both sides have had some pretty good wins over the season but the Tigers’ form has not been the best over the past few weeks, losing three games in a row.

The Tigers desperately need a win this week as their chances of finishing in the top two become less and less likely with every loss.

The Cats on the other hand still have a chance of making the finals as they are only two games behind North in fourth place, so a win on Saturday could shorten that gap and make things interesting with four rounds to

go.

West Gambier v South Gambier

South Gambier will take on West Gambier at Vansittart Park on Saturday, with the Roos coming off a really tough loss to the Saints where they only kicked two goals.

The Dees on the other hand should be very confident after their comeback win over the Tigers last week.

Last time these sides played it was a thriller with the Dees winning by five points.

Since then both sides have had some solid wins and tough losses as South sits one spot ahead of West on the ladder with a game in hand.

This is a crucial game for both teams in regards to how they will finish at the end of the season as a win for the Dees will help them distance themselves from the rest of the pack and it will help solidify their position in second.

For West a win would tie them up with South on the ladder and depending on the percentages they could move up to second place.

Overall this game has a lot at stake which should be a recipe for a great and high intensity game.

Millicent v East Gambier

The Saints will travel to the Mount on Saturday to take on East Gambier at the Kennel.

Millicent has been on another level this season and has not looked like losing in a long time.

East on the other hand have struggled this season as they are still looking for their first win of the year.

Over the past few weeks the Doggies have been playing pretty well but have not been able to consistently play at a high level for a whole game.

This matchup will be a tough one for East and they will have to get off to a good start and not let Millicent get out to a big lead early on because it will be a tough task to come back from.

On the other hand the Doggies will not back down coming into this match up and certainly will not make it easy for Millicent as East have always given it their all every week and going into this game with nothing to lose they will be looking for the upset win over the reigning premiers.
