Experienced bureaucrat Debra Brokenshire has been appointed as the interim executive officer of the Limestone Coast Local Government Association for an initial period of three months.
She succeeds Adrian Maywald who resigned on June 6 after six months in the role.
Her appointment was announced by LCLGA president and Mount Gambier Mayor Lynette Martin OAM.
Ms Brokenshire spent a brief period as Robe District Council acting chief executive in 2023.
“In addition to operating her own business, The Governator, Ms Brokenshire has had extensive local government experience spanning some 30 years,” Mayor Martin said.
“Her business has been specifically designed to provide support to regional councils and local government subsidiaries during officer vacancies, ranging from chief executive officer, governance, HR, records management etc, so Ms Brokenshire will be a perfect fit for the LCLGA during this interim period.
“The LCLGA Board welcome Ms Brokenshire and look forward to working with her.”
