Fallen officer memorial event

Senior public figures are expected to be present when a memorial to fallen Lucindale police officer Brevet Sergeant Jason Doig is unveiled at 2pm on April 6.

It is to be placed at Centenary Park, Lucindale and members of the public are welcome to attend.

Backing for the memorial has come from South Australia Police, Police Association of South Australia, Cops for Kids, SA Police Legacy and Wall to Wall Ride for Remembrance.

Brevet Sergeant Doig first came to this region as officer-in-charge of Robe Police.

He later transferred to an equivalent role at Lucindale and became this town’s longest-serving police officer.

He was killed on duty near Bordertown in 2023 at the age of 53.
