Mount Gambier is set to transform into a realm of knights, wizards and warriors as the Fantasy Medieval Fair returns to the Mount Gambier Showgrounds on April 5 and 6.
The award-winning, locally produced event invites visitors to step into a world of historical and mythological wonder, where the clash of swords, the thunder of galloping horses and the tantalising aroma of traditional village cooking fill the air.
Now in its fourth year, the Fantasy Medieval Fair continues to grow, bringing even more entertainment, immersive experiences and unique merchants from across Australia.
Witness the spectacle of jousting and horseback sword fighting, where skilled riders battle with precision and power.
Feel the intensity of the Adelaide Warhounds as they engage in full-armoured combat and wander through the lively reenactment villages where blacksmiths, leather workers, artisans, storytellers and skilled craftspeople bring history to life.
Follow the lively strains of medieval music to the marketplace, where costumed vendors offer handcrafted wares, from finely wrought chainmail to delicate elixirs and, of course, bottles of sweet, golden mead.
If you arrive without a costume, you will not leave without one.
The daily Costume Competition is your chance to dress as a viking, knight, wizard or princess and showcase your medieval flair.
Indulge in the food court and tavern, where the scent of stewing meats, freshly baked bread and spiced drinks transport you to another era.
Join a round of Dungeons and Dragons inside the hall or test your skills at longbow archery on the showgrounds’ grassland.
With vibrant maypole dancing, bustling alleyways of merchants and a fully immersive atmosphere, the Fantasy Medieval Fair is an experience the entire family will never forget.
The festival will be held at the Mount Gambier Showgrounds on April 5 and 6.
Tickets available online or at the gate, so dust off your cloaks, ready your swords and prepare for a weekend of adventure.
