Farm design innovation tour

Sheep producers across South Australia are invited to join four Sticky Beak Days this February to explore innovative yard and shed designs while gaining practical insights into flock structuring and farm finances.

Hosted on farms across the state, these events are a unique opportunity for producers to learn directly from other producers, alongside leading industry experts. Attendees will have the chance to see firsthand how new shed and yard designs are being implemented, with insights shared by Ben White from the Kondinin Group, who will discuss various design options and their benefits.

Recognising the value of peer-to-peer learning, the events will also feature Nathan Scott of Achieve Ag Solutions and Deb Purvis of Purvis Agri-Finance.

Nathan will offer guidance on making informed flock structuring decisions, while Deb will share her expertise in navigating agri-financing options to support farm businesses.

“These sessions are designed to be practical and relaxed,” AWI Extension SA Chair Georgie Keynes said.

“Providing real-world examples and advice that producers can take home and apply to their own operations.”

The Sticky Beak Days promise a combination of expert knowledge, farmer-driven learning, and on-the-ground solutions, making them a must-attend for South Australian sheep producers keen to innovate and grow their businesses.

The Sticky Beak events are proudly supported by funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund, the Government of South Australia, Livestock SA, and Australian Wool Innovation Extension SA.

Spearkers will include Ben White, Kondinin Group: Yard design; Nathan Scott, Achieve Ag Solutions: The secrets of sheep – changes for an even better sheep business; Deb Purvis, Agribusiness and Corporate Finance: Financial Management in Dry Times (the art of negotiation is in the presentation).
