Farm land sold

Contracts have been signed for the sale of five parcels of quality farming land in the Hatherleigh and Millicent districts.

The area totals almost 1300 acres with the parcels ranging in size from 50 acres to 531 acres with various improvements including yards and shedding on most of them.

The land has been owned for generations by members of the local Burdon family.

The sale was conducted via the expressions of interest process. The “street talk” suggests premium prices were achieved, however, Elders selling agent Grant Schubert was tight-lipped about the sale.

Mr Schubert said there were multiple purchasers.

“The sale generated an enormous amount of interest and the market is strong,” Mr Schubert said.

“I have been asked by the vendors and the purchasers not to disclose the prices.”
