Farmers market out of season

The last Mount Gambier Makers and Farmers Market for the season will take place this Saturday in honour of Mother’s Day.

There will be over 40 stalls on offer, free coffee for the first 50 mothers to visit the market and a free Mother’s Day raffle entry with every purchase.

Mount Gambier Farmers Market chair Vanessa Freebairn said organisers hoped the market would be a fun family day out for the local community and visiting tourists.

“The Mount Gambier Farmers Market started opening the market once a month to ‘makers’ in December last year and it has helped build the number of stallholders and customers to the market,” she said.

“There will be a winter break for the makers markets until springtime, but the farmers market will continue rain, hail or shine every Saturday morning at the Cave Gardens.”

Phil Ackland Photography will offer Mother’s Day photo sessions in the Cave Garden and there will be a Mother’s Day cake decorating competition.

There will also be live music by Hunter N Scout to accompany shoppers and gift wrapping available.

For the kids, Little Blue Wren Gifts and Art will run a children’s activity and face painting and glitter tattoos will be on offer.
