Fatal crash near Penola

A woman has died following a fatal crash at Penola this morning.

About 10.30am today (Monday 24 February), police and emergency services responded to a single vehicle roll over on Casterton Road.

The passenger of the Toyota HiLux, an 81-year-old woman from Victoria, sadly died at the scene.

The driver, a 54-year-old woman from Victoria, was taken to hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.

Major Crash Investigators have attended the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Casterton Road remains closed with diversions in place via Riddoch Highway.

The woman’s death is the 18th life lost on South Australian roads this year.
