IT’S been referred to as a ‘sleepy little hamlet’, but there’s no chance for snoozing in Sandford on the long weekend in March, when hundreds of visitors descend on the district for the renowned Sandford Bush Festival.
Featuring acts from across the country playing traditional bush, bluegrass, country, rockabilly and with some Cajun influence thrown in this year, the three-day event sees registration plates from all Australian states, packed into campgrounds across the region.
Accompanying the musical entertainers, the likes of The Rummagers and Strat and Lyndal (pictured here), masters of forgotten crafts including blacksmithing and whipcracking, purveyors of prose and fabulous foodies bring the Sandford Recreation Reserve to life for one big, three-day party.
