Final home and away hit out

Division 1 – Mount Schank/Mil Lel/Mount Gambier v West Gambier

The division 1 combined side will host West Gambier this Saturday at Mil Lel as West looks to push for the top spot in the final round of the season.

These sides have met once this season with West winning in a competitive 7-5 result.

So far in the back end of the season West has picked up one win and a loss while the combined side has only played once and came away with a loss.

Heading into finals West would like to get a win this week to help their chances at claiming top spot on the ladder as well as gaining some momentum going into finals.

A good match up to watch in this game will be the men’s number two singles of West’s Brady Cook and Mount Gambier’s Will Le Cornu.

Both have been solid all season and have had some great wins. Neither has played against each other this season so it should be interesting to see how they match up.

Both are coming off great wins in their last matches as Le Cornu took a 6-4 win while Cook had a 7-5 win.

Given how competitive the last match up was between these sides this Saturday should be similar as both sides still have things to play for with West looking for a better finals position while the combined side searches for their first victory.

Glencoe v Uniting

Glencoe and Uniting will face off in the last game of the Mount Gambier and District Tennis Association season as the two sides battle it out in Glencoe.

These sides have met twice this season with Uniting winning both times.

Heading into finals this will likely bve a semi finals match up with Uniting sitting first and Glencoe in fourth.

Glencoe have not been in the best form in 2025, losing back to back weeks in early February while Uniting have just had the one game in the new year which resulted in a win.

A great game in this match up will be the top men’s singles of Uniting’s Andrew van den Hurk and Glencoe’s Dylan Childs.

In the two meetings both have taken a set off one another with Childs winning the first in a tiebreaker then van den Hurk bouncing back and getting a 6-4 win back in November.

These two have been the top men all season and will certainly be in for another competitive match.

As these two are likely to face off in the finals this weekend’s game will be a good one to gauge how they shape up against one another before finals begin.
