Former mayor to share stories with history group

Former Naracoorte Lucindale Mayor David Hood will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the South East Family History Group on October 26 in Millicent .

Mr Hood is a long-time member of the SEFHG and has been active in local government, Liberal Party and other community groups for many years.

He was instrumental in 2020 in securing bound editions of the Naracoorte Herald for the SEFHG Research Centre.

The SEFHG will not be having a guest speaker at its November 23 meeting as this is set aside for the customary Christmas party.

It does not meet in the months of December and January and its research centre is shut over the festive season.

Its guest speaker last month was new Hatherleigh resident and retired Army officer David Smith.

He reflected on his 35-year career with the Australian Defence Force and what it taught him about leadership.
