Formula 500 state title ‘run and won’

Mount Gambier’s Borderline Speedway hosted a big night of racing action on Saturday, including the Formula 500 South Australia title.

Also taking place on the night was the MJS Street Stock Series round six and the Junior Formula 500s.

A good crowd filled the speedway, with a huge night of racing featuring 27 events.

The Formula 500 South Australia title race proved historic, with Angelo Karoussis completing his three-peat of the title.

Also joining Karoussis on the podium in second was Tim Rankin, with Dale Sinclair third.

Just off the pace in fourth and fifth were Jordan Mansell and Brendan Zadow.

The MJS Street Stock Series round six was a terrific race that had the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Finishing first after a determined performance was Andy Maxwell Junior, with Steven Gartner not far behind.

Jayden Edwards finished third, followed by Ricky Throckmorton.

Borderline will host its last meeting of the 2022/23 season with the 2023 Easter Sprintcar Trail Night 2 on April 8.
