Funds help name unmarked graves

Agenerous $500 donation by the Live and Learn Craft Group has enabled a further 22 named plaques to be placed on older unmarked graves at the Millicent Cemetery.

This donation, and others, has been welcomed by the Millicent-based South East Family History Group which has been voluntarily restoring and marking graves for over a decade.

SEFHG president Noel Boyle said he had received several other donations from people that have found his group has worked on an unmarked relative’s grave.

“This was very much appreciated,” Mr Boyle said.

“Once again Bruhn Limestone have been very generous with their help with the limestone ashlars.

“Millicent signwriter Matt Cockrum has been very helpful with the plaques and local earthmover Matt Bowman has supplied the bricks the plaques go on.”
