Millicent resident Peter Gandolfi has been appointed as the managing editor of Mount Gambier newspaper The Border Watch.

He succeeds Brett Kennedy who has moved to a role with the State Government.

Most recently, Mr Gandolfi chaired the board of Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast.

His time in local government in the Northern Territory and South Australia included eight years as the Wattle Range Mayor.

Mr Gandolfi has wide community interests and was the Liberal candidate for the seat of Mount Gambier at the 2006 state election.
