This weekend garden lovers and collectors will have the chance to lose themselves in Wahroonga.
Over the years enthusiastic collectors Keith and Maria Seller have accumulated many collectables and every day items that has seen their property take on a life of its own.
The private garden is set on 2.5 acres near Mount Gambier and will be open for all to enjoy.
Filled with many reclaimed materials from paddocks, dumps, gifts from friends and just from travelling the countryside.
A greater portion of the plants have also been reclaimed, dug up from gardens being revamped or started from cuttings and donated by friends.
Towed from a farm site, a Bedford truck sits in the driveway surrounded by flowers.
In honour of wartime heroes, an eight-foot cross made from railway sleepers has been placed in a garden and under planted with Anzac roses.
Following the theme, a canvas blind has been painted with lone soldier and windmill blades with the iconic words ‘Lest we forget’.
A glass house made from many second hand and a variety of window panes sits by the veggie patch.
There is a small wetland area near the old ‘red rattler’ train at the bottom of the garden. The train has been converted into living quarters, currently resided in by the couple’s daughter.
A garden regarded as very individual with a lot of treasures there is so much to take in.
The garden has been designed to indulge the senses and revive memories of times gone by.
This event will be open this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4.30pm, at 31 William Road Worrolong.
Entry is $8.00, concession $6.00 and free for under 18 years of age. Funds from the day will be donated to the Millicent Craft Group, of which Mrs Seller is a member.
Devonshire teas and barbecue food will be available along with several local stall holder selling goods.
