A LATE final quarter Reserves collision involving Dartmoor’s Steve Ellis postponed the start of the Seniors game, while medical assistance was sought with Ellis being unable to be moved from his position along the boundary and play being deemed too dangerous to play given his proximity to the boundary line.
After a 45-minute delay play was started and from the first bounce it was a hotly contested ball.
New recruit, Ethan Murdoch, made his presence felt around the ground winning contested football and giving Dartmoor first use of the ball.
It was Westerns however who came out on top in the first term, kicking two majors before the quarter time break.
The home side were able to score three more goals during the second quarter to Westerns one, which saw them go into the halftime break with a 14-point lead, but it was the third term which saw the home side stack on another seven goals to have a commanding 53-point lead.
Can Gleeson, Jed Lucas and Daniel Lynch worked tirelessly around the ground all day with Lynch’s speed and strong ability to overhead mark earning him two majors throughout the day.
The lead remained mostly the same during the final term with each side producing a three-goal term.
Returning to the club after a year at Port Macdonnell was local Nathan Bell. who’s left-foot. on-the-run shot on goal had can hill roaring with excitement.
Dartmoors Under 17 footballers Connor Stephens, Brody Pratt and Seb Harvey did not look out of place after all played earlier in the day, with each finding their own footy and making possessions count, with Pratt kicking two majors throughout the game.
Murdoch was named best on ground, finishing with three majors and plenty of the football.
