Anew festive shopping event is set to launch in Mount Gambier in a bid to promote the Blue Lake city as a vibrant and exciting place to shop.
The Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce last week announced its upcoming shopping event “The Christmas Wrap Up”.
The after hours VIP shopping event will be held on Wednesday, December 6, from 5pm to 9pm in Mount Gambier.
The shopping event has been initiated by the Chamber through consultation directly with the local retail community to promote Mount Gambier as a vibrant and exciting place to shop.
The Chamber’s president Candice Fennell is encouraging businesses to sign up and participate in the event to be featured on the map.
“Businesses that participate will be given the opportunity to promote their businesses to event attendees,” she said.
“The Christmas Wrap Up is a great opportunity for businesses to connect with the community and to promote their products and services.
“Additionally, businesses will have the opportunity to host in-store promotions and giveaways.
“Businesses that participate are sure to benefit from the event’s increased exposure and foot traffic.”
Ms Fennell said the event will feature a variety of activities and attractions, including a map featuring each participating business, in-store promotions from participating businesses, buskers and street performers, a Christmas present wrapping station and various “Drop and Shop” childcare services.
“The Christmas Wrap Up is a ticketed event for participants, with tickets costing $10 per person and available to purchase online,” she said.
“Ticket includes access to in-store VIP specials, automatic entry into the competition with cash prizes, access to Drop and Shop childcare and includes a donation to the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.
“The Christmas Wrap Up is a great opportunity to support local businesses and get into the festive spirit at the same time.
We’re excited to offer this event to the Mount Gambier community, and we hope everyone will come along and enjoy the evening.
“With its festive atmosphere and wide range of activities, the event is sure to be a fun and enjoyable evening.”
