Gower eyes drainage role

Millicent could have a third resident joining retired forester Michael Bleby and farmer John Mullins on the South Eastern Water Conservation and Drainage Board.

Wattle Range Council chief executive Ben Gower wishes to be the Local Government Association representative on the Millicent-based organisation.

A vacancy has arisen as the term of office of Kalangadoo resident Jane Fetherstonhaugh expires on April 15.

She has recently left her role as Grant District Council deputy chief executive and she has stated that she will not seek a second term on the Drainage Board.
