Grit and determination needed to secure Millicent Golf Club win

No less than 22 women played a Stableford competition in very warm weather conditions at the Millicent Golf Club recently. A Grade went to Kathy Webber with 35 points, just one ahead of runner-up Mary Winser 34.

A newcomer was victorious in B Grade with Karen Lock collecting 33 points. Rosalie Hunt pushed her to the end with 32 points. Ball winners were Helen Chilton, Virginia DeDonatis and Bronwyn Clarke.

A countback was needed in the nine-hole competition with Webber just edging out Winser. Kathy Webber 19 on a countback from Mary Winser. Kirsty Bailey, Janet Watson and Tracie Duldig won nearest the pin titles.

Millicent’s A Grade team defeated Robe in the Pennant competition four matches to one at home. The Division 2 team finished all square with Keith at Naracoorte sharing 2.5 matches each.

Matches on Monday 22nd March – A Grade play Bordertown at Lucindale and Division 2 play

Naracoorte at Kingston. The Millicent Golf Club will be hold a four-ball Ambrose Competition on Good Friday tomorrow.

Regular and non golfers are most welcome to play during the great social day where fish and sausages is provided during your round of golf.
