Handiwork goes towards funding facility upgrades

Cash for facility improvements was raised at the recent annual garage sale hosted by the Millicent Craft Group at the Millicent RSL War Memorial Hall.

It is the fourth year the group has held the sale with the proceeds earmarked for a much-needed building extension at it is Fifth Street base.

Once again, the organiser was craft group member Helen Joyce and she supervised the sale of books, towel racks, art and craft supplies, jewellery, toys, clothes, bric-a-brac and homewares.

Among the bargains were second-hand steamer chairs for $5 each.

The leftover items from the sale were donated to local charity shops.

Millicent Craft Group president Di Verspui said they needed additional space for their growing membership.

“We currently have 65 members and the building is in use on every day of the week an a few nights as well,” Ms Verspui said.
