The football landscape may look different in 2023 in Mount Gambier and surrounds, but one thing will stay the same at Tigerland with North Gambier announcing Ben Hardy will lead the A Grade side for a second season.
Hardy has completed his first regular season with the Tigers, leading them to third position on the Western Border Football League A Grade ladder and is now preparing to take on South Gambier at Casterton in a preliminary final this weekend after successfully winning against West Gambier in the first semi-final.
Hardy spoke with extreme excitement to continue for another year.
“I feel we have an amazing group at North,” he said.
“The growth and development throughout this season has been huge.
“Brydie (Ben’s Partner) and myself look forward to the future and what it holds at Tigerland.”
North Gambier Football Club president David Bruhn said everyone around Vansittart Park had been nothing but impressed with the efforts of the new coach, who took over the leadership role from club legend Justin McConnell.
“It is reward for his effort, willingness to learn the coaching craft and guide the club towards his vision,” he said.
“It was never going to be a one year project.”
The club is also pleased to announce that Tim Young will continue in the role of coach of the Reserves team.
