On a cold but clear day a large field of 35 women competed in the fourth round of the Hudson Plumbing Stableford last Wednesday.
There were good scores recorded, led by Denise Harvey.
Harvey, playing off a 22 handicap, had a great day registering 39 points.
She had 19 points on the front nine and 20 on the back, including six three pointers and scored on every hole.
Runner-up on a count-back was the ever consistent Jan Shanahan (19) who has been a regular place- getter over the last few months.
Jan had 37 points and 21 on the back to edge ahead of third place finisher Jill Johnson.
Johnson’s (43) round was boosted by a fine shot onto the par three 16th hole landing within 46 cms of the hole.
She went on to score a birdie and collect five points.
Next week’s game will be September’s Monthly Medal which is a Stroke Round.
At last spring-like weather finally came to the Mount Gambier Golf Course on Saturday and 15 ladies enjoyed the pleasant conditions.
Lyndal McInerney (40 handicap) played the fast course well and she returned a score of 3 up to win the par round.
McInerney smashed the back nine having five wins and two wipes.
Runner-up Helen McIntyre (19 Handicap) recorded a score of 2 up and registered a birdie on the 12th Hole.
Yvonne Shirley (28 Handicap) took out 3rd honours losing on a count-back.
