Hatherleigh has signed current player and ex-AFL player Tom Hutchesson as its playing coach for 2024 and 2025.
He played for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in 2020 and 2021 after earlier playing with Millicent, Glenelg and the Adelaide Crows SANFL team.
The 28-year-old is a dual premiership player at Millicent and won the 2018 Brian Hennessey Memorial Medal as the best and fairest in the Western Border Football League.
Hatherleigh announced the appointment yesterday afternoon.
“Tom’s wife Natalie previously played netball for Millicent before taking a break as they welcomed their first child Leo in February this year,” stated the club.
“With changes coming to the SE leagues in 2024, having this stability and a clear direction going forward will be key to future success.
“Current Eagles playing coach Gerard McGrath will be stepping back after this season as he and wife Melissa are expecting their fourth child later this year.
“We look forward to Tom continuing on from Gerard’s great work in 2023 and are excited for what lies ahead.”
