Mount Gambier entertainer Louise Adams heads the bill when Carols in the Shearing Shed returns to Millicent in December.
Ms Adams shot to fame as a singer/songwriter in 2015 following her success on The X-Factor national television talent show.
She is a great supporter of Millicent radio station 5THE FM and sang at their quiz night in March.
Securing Ms Adams is quite a coup and she follows other notable Carols in the Shearing Shed guest artists as Ellie Lovegrove, Allan Webster and Euan Doidge.
5THE FM has taken over the presentation of the yearly community function after this role was relinquished by the Millicent Baptist Church a few years ago.
This church had staged Carols in the Shearing Shed for around two decades.
Community radio station board chairman David Walshaw said planning for the December 15 event was under way.
Mr Walshaw said the Millicent Choral Society would again be invited to sing.
He said Tim Whennan would again take responsibility for the sound and other technical aspects.
“I have spoken to Millicent Ministers’ Association president Pastor Sean Mulick about a message,” Mr Walshaw said.
“It will be good to have the radio station brand on this event.”
All going well, the austere surroundings of the Millicent Showgrounds shearing shed will undergo a transformation as hundreds of revellers of all ages come together for a community carols night.
In all likelihood, a massive decorated pine tree will be placed on the boards where shearers ply their craft each November.
It is expected traditional Christmas carols will be sung with great gusto and Christmas messages from community leaders will be presented.
In years gone by, funds have been generated for such local charities as St John volunteers, Millicent and District Hospital and the Millicent Cancer Support Group.
