ANOTHER fine and warm day greeted the 14 players on Wednesday for a Stableford.

Winner on the day and continuing his fine form was Pat Hegarty (20) with a score of 43 points (there goes his handicap) from Frank Mcinerney (31) on 37 points, on a countback from three other players.

Nearest the Pins went to Richard Layley on the 2nd, Ken Bibby on the 8th, Steve Hindson on the 13th and A Skinner on the 17th.

This week’s winner of the Tyrepower award is Tyler Vise, with two other players giving him a run for the money.

Women’s results

THE 18-hole comp was won easily by Wendy McKenzie with a fine score of 41 points, from Yvonne Rees on 36 points.

NTPs to Yvonne Rees on the 2nd and 17th and Sandra McGann on the 8th and 13th.

Saturday was to be another hot day, so the comp started at 9am.

We managed to have a field of 18 players hitting of the back nine first, as the sprinklers were pouring the water on the front nine to keep the green in top condition.

Winner on a countback was David Rhook (17) on 36 points from that man again, Pat Hegarty (18), also on 36 points.

NTPs went to Brett Van As on the 2nd and Neville Wombwell on the 8th, Tyler Vise on the 13th and Maurice Faroe on the 17th.

Who was that player that said he could not reach the dam between the 12th and 14the, off the 12th tee – not only did he achieve that feat, but he also managed to put his next shot in there as well.

Good to report all players completed the round safely.

Next week is the monthly medal hitting off at 8.30am, regardless of the weather, as the greens will again receive some treatment in the afternoon.

Hopefully there will be a few helping hands available.
