Ahigh tea was a hit at the Hatherleigh Community Hall with all 55 seats selling out well before the event on Saturday.

The hall committee put out an open invitation to the public to come to their fundraiser for an Op Shop High Tea.

Music and afternoon tea and tasty treats were provided as part of the $20 admission fee.

Among the participants were Wattle Range Mayor and Mayoress Des and Shari Noll, a 16-strong contingent from Millicent’s Filipino community and six volunteers from the Millicent Lifeline Thrift Shop.

Hall committee member Selena Smith said prizes were awarded for the most outrageous outfit as well as best male outfit and best female outfit.

“All proceeds from the Hatherleigh High Tea go to the running and maintenance of the 71-year-old hall,” she said.

“There are the power and insurance bills to pay.

“The high yea was run by the volunteers on the Hatherleigh community hall committee and we are grateful for their support to keep this small hall running.”

A community market is being run at Hatherleigh on Sunday (February 23).
