The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) has addressed a number of defects on Princes Highway which are part of the $190m Princes Highway Corridor Upgrade program.
The upgrades are taking place from the Meningie to the South Australian / Victorian border and are jointly funded by the Federal and State governments.
“We are aware of a number of defects at multiple locations along the Princes Highway,” a spokesperson for the Department for Infrastructure and Transport said.
“Our contractor, Acciona, is investigating the causes of these defects and developing a program to remediate these areas as soon as possible.
“We will continue to work collaboratively with Acciona to ensure remediation works are undertaken as soon as possible.
“We appreciate that works along the Princes Highway have been ongoing for an extended period of time and apologise for inconvenience caused.
“We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding while these critical upgrade works are undertaken.”
Speed and lane restrictions are currently in place along the new overtaking lanes seven kilometres north of Millicent, and speed restrictions are in place at the Furner Road junction and the Tantanoola overtaking lane extension 13km south-east of Millicent.
