Historic building renovated

The Penola National Trust has completed renovations to one of the town’s oldest buildings.

The former telegraph station in Riddoch Street dates back to 1860 and is the ninth such colonial-era building to be owned by the local National Trust.

Expressions of interest have been invited by the National Trust to lease the stone building and operate it as a bed-and-breakfast accommodation facility.

The building has three bedrooms and modern conveniences.

It was purchased by the National Trust in 1972 and has been a private rental ever since.
