Homestead sell-off

More than 400 people braved the cold and showery weather recently to attend a clearing sale at the Penola Station Homestead under the account of Moya Trading.

Thomas, DeGaris and Clarkson stock and station agents in Penola conducted the sale.

The auctioneers were kept on their toes with bidding operating in two sheds.

This was the last auction conducted by Darren Maney after being at TDC for more than three decades.

The sale included machinery, farm equipment, antiques and collectables and tools plus boxes of miscellaneous surprises.

People travelled from all over South Australia and Western Victoria looking for a bargain.

Bidding on some items was quite competitive which enabled some good prices to be recorded.

The property has been sold and the owners have retired in Mount Gambier.
