House damaged by blaze

Country Fire Service volunteers were called to a house fire at Wepar on Sunday afternoon.

Just after 2pm CFS crews were called to a structure fire on Three Chain Road.

Four CFS crews and a bulk water carrier arrived to find the house, which was in the process of being renovated, well alight.

Thankfully the owners of the home evacuated safely and were able to alert authorities to the fire and both SAAS and SAPOL were on scene as a precaution.

Damages are estimated at approximately $50,000 and the cause of the fire is not deemed to be suspicious.
