The Castec Rural Pioneers have recently re-signed their 2021 Captain Tom Daly, which is a wonderful boost for the club as it develops strong squads for the 2022 NBL1 South season.

Daly has been a highly successful Pioneer during his eight-year stay at the Ice House which includes the last four seasons as captain.

He is almost always in MVP contention and is an excellent all-round player and leader of the team.

In the 2021 NBL1 season, Daly averaged 18.38 points per game, 4.23 assists and 4.30 rebounds and was the Pioneers top points scorer in the competition.

The Castec Rural Pioneers head coach, Richard Hill acknowledged Daly has been an integral part of the side’s previous successes and remains perfectly placed to help lead it to further triumphs.

“Tom showed that he is still one of the leading guards in the competition with a tremendous 40-point game in our win against highly ranked Geelong, in Geelong,” he said.

“There remains a lot that he can still achieve.”

Daly will be proudly sponsored in 2022 by one of the Pioneers Basketball Club corporate partners, UniSA Mount Gambier Campus.

The Castec Rural Pioneers and the OneFortyOne Pioneers will commence their 2022 NBL1 South campaigns in April 2022.
