Insurer closes city office

Mount Gambier lost its Bupa Insurance office in Helen Street on Friday.

The company informed its members by email last month.

“We’d like to let you know we have made the difficult decision to permanently close the Mount Gambier Bupa Health Insurance store on April 1,” stated the email.

“We know this may cause some disappointment, but we’d like to thank you for your ongoing support.

“We remain committed to you and your community.”

Bupa services will continue to be provided by phone and online means.

Meanwhile, Westpac is withdrawing face-to-face banking services from its branch in Commercial Street West.

These will now be provided via the Bank SA branch in Commercial Street East which is a sister company to Westpac.
