Millicent remembered the victims of the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe at an interfaith memorial service on Saturday afternoon.
It was staged at St Alphonsus Hall and was led by Millicent/Mount Gambier Catholic parish priest Father Dean Marin. The guest speaker was Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll.
Millicent resident Ben Aardenburg was among the 25 present at the hour-long service. He said the solemn prayer was meaningful. “There were candles lit to signify the countries which have suffered from COVID,” he said. A similar interfaith prayer service was held in early May at Mount Gambier’s Christ Church Anglican Church.
